Training

The United States Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) released new regulations under Title IX effective August 14, 2020. All materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators and decision-makers must be publicly available.

Each academic year, Montclair State University requires all faculty and staff to complete online Title IX training. Ongoing gender-based misconduct prevention training is required under Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (“Campus SaVE Act”), which is part of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. The training has been revised to conform to the new federal regulations adopted in 2020 and codified at 34 C.F.R. 106.
